Seasons and Times

The RISS calendar is built around the rhythms of life.

A healthy year has seasons. It has moments of work, reflection, celebration, remembrance, gratitude, service, and renewal. For many residents, those rhythms have been missing, broken, or disconnected for a long time.

The campus calendar helps restore those patterns.

Throughout the year, RISS recognizes civic holidays, cultural observances, faith-based celebrations, seasonal festivals, and community traditions. Some events are resident-facing. Some include families, volunteers, donors, community partners, and invited guests. Some are joyful and active. Others are reflective, educational, or service-oriented.

Participation in religious observances is never forced.

The purpose is exposure, inclusion, education, community experience, and the rebuilding of normal life rhythms.

The calendar is organized by season:

Winter
Light, reflection, belonging, new beginnings, and holiday traditions.

Spring
Renewal, growth, culture, faith, civic learning, and fresh starts.

Summer
Freedom, community, outdoor life, celebration, direction, and remembrance.

Fall
Work, harvest, gratitude, memory, service, and preparation for the end of the year.

These events are not just entertainment.

They are part of rebuilding a life.

If you believe reintegration should be built intentionally, not reactively, we invite you to explore how you can help bring the RISS model to life.
