Rug and Upholstery Services

The rug cleaning and upholstery services operation at RISS is intended to provide workforce training opportunities connected to commercial cleaning, restoration, and fabric care industries.

The operation will initially focus on rug cleaning services primarily serving retail, office, and commercial spaces.

Over time, the operation is intended to expand into:

  • Upholstery cleaning

  • Fabric restoration

  • Commercial furniture cleaning

  • Specialty textile care

  • Reupholstery work

This workforce track is designed to expose residents to:

  • Commercial cleaning systems

  • Equipment operation

  • Chemical handling and safety

  • Customer service

  • Scheduling and logistics

  • Material care

  • Restoration techniques

  • Detail-oriented work

  • Quality control

As the operation expands, residents may also gain exposure to craftsmanship and restoration-oriented skills connected to reupholstery and furniture restoration.

The goal is not simply to teach labor.

It is to teach reliability, standards, consistency, and the understanding that professional service industries depend heavily on trust, presentation, and attention to detail.

If you believe reintegration should be built intentionally, not reactively, we invite you to explore how you can help bring the RISS model to life.
