Collection Drives
One of the simplest ways a community can help meet needs is by coming together to collect and distribute resources.
The RISS Collection Drive Program is designed to support that effort by organizing, hosting, and participating in collection drives that benefit individuals, families, and community organizations throughout Central Texas.
Different needs arise throughout the year. Some are seasonal. Others are ongoing. As opportunities arise, RISS may partner with community organizations, churches, schools, civic groups, charitable programs, and public agencies to help collect and distribute needed items.
Examples may include:
• Food drives
• Clothing drives
• School supply drives
• Holiday toy drives
• Personal hygiene item drives
• Winter clothing and cold-weather supply drives
• Household goods drives
• Pet food and pet supply drives
• Disaster relief collection efforts
• Other community-focused collection initiatives
Whenever possible, residents will have opportunities to participate in these efforts through donations, organization, collection, sorting, packaging, and distribution activities.
These drives serve multiple purposes. They help meet real community needs, strengthen relationships with community partners, and provide residents with meaningful opportunities to contribute to the broader community.
We believe community works best when people help one another. Collection drives are a practical way to turn that belief into action.
Whether supporting a local food pantry, helping families during the holidays, providing school supplies for students, or responding to unexpected community needs, these efforts reflect an important part of the RISS philosophy: residents are not simply recipients of support. They are also contributors.
As RISS grows, we hope these collection drives will become another way residents, volunteers, donors, and community partners can work together to help meet needs throughout the community.
